From concept to installation, you’ll partner closely with sales, clients, and internal teams to design functional, innovative, and visually compelling spaces. You’ll play a key role in translating client needs into thoughtful design solutions. The Designer applies interior design expertise, space planning, product specification, and project coordination to deliver accurate, code‑compliant, and client‑focused results. They apply creative design services to coordinate the design, selection and specification of product options by guiding the process toward excellent solutions to meet customer expectations. We expect our designers to communicate effectively in listening and describing concepts and details to support new and existing customers. Project Designers maintain an active knowledge of Knoll, Herman Miller and other manufacturers’ furniture lines. They research product options and build presentation packages for clients, evaluate and design all requirements to meet customers’ needs, and deliver finished floor plans and product inventories. They balance multiple projects simultaneously and contribute both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Position Highlights Attend client meetings and/or participate during in-house strategy sessions to qualify design parameters Lead and support all phases of the design process from programming and space planning to installation Produce presentation materials, renderings, and client-facing design packages Ensure all designs align with ADA requirements, building codes, and project goals Conduct field measurements, site verifications, and product inventories Prepare accurate and detailed construction documents and installation packages Apply company documentation standards and quality control processes while cultivating efficiencies Demonstrate excellent time management skills and flexibility to prioritize workload, effectively address competing deadlines, and adapt to changing project demands Participate in peer reviews to ensure design accuracy, integrity and compliance Be an effective communicator, not afraid to ask questions to gather missing information Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer lines, products and industry trends in workplace design Attend vendor presentations and training to continuously expand product knowledge Previous contract furniture dealership experience beneficial but not required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in interior design or related field Experience in commercial interior design or contract furniture preferred Strong understanding of interior design principles, industry standards, space planning and furniture systems knowledge Proficiency in design software, specifically CET Designer, AutoCAD, CAP/2020 (training available) Effective utilization of Microsoft Office Suite M-F 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
