Make an impact supporting students by stepping into a dynamic school psychologist role for the upcoming academic year! This contract opportunity offers you the chance to collaborate across elementary, middle, and high school settings in a diverse and engaging environment from August 26, 2026, to June 11, 2027.
Two distinct positions are available: One focuses on early childhood (0.6 FTE, 3 days/week) screening and evaluations for children transitioning into or out of early intervention, working closely with families and preschool partners, and traveling between several local preschools. The other is a full-time K-4 role, handling evaluations, multi-tiered systems of support meetings, and facilitating IEP sessions. Both require clear communication, collaborative problem-solving, and a thorough understanding of special education laws and best practices.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a school psychologist in the state of Illinois
- Experience with evaluations, functional behavioral assessments, and eligibility/re-evaluation reviews
- Knowledge of special education law and early childhood evaluation practices
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfort working with diverse teams and conducting meetings with families
- Flexibility to travel between school sites, especially for the early childhood position
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and screenings
- Hold and facilitate eligibility determination and IEP meetings
- Collaborate with families, educational partners, and multidisciplinary teams
- Guide and support teams with the MTSS (for K-4) and the IEP process
- Clearly communicate results, processes, and recommendations to all stakeholders
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
