Tire and Battery Service Advisor

Sam's Club #4778, 4350 Joslyn Rd, Auburn Hills, MI 48326-1329 Position Summary The Tire and Battery Center (TBC) Associate is responsible for maintaining a safe and organized sales floor, providing expert member service, and delivering tire and battery solutions. The role includes inventory management, appointment coordination, equipment operation, and collaboration with club associates to promote TBC offerings. Key Responsibilities Maintain facility and sales‑floor safety by conducting regular sweeps, adhering to forklift and hazardous material handling procedures, and promptly reporting or correcting unsafe situations. Organize, stock, zone, and merchandize the TBC sales floor according to company policies; manage claims, returns, shrink, and damaged goods. Set up and maintain merchandise displays, sign and price goods, and secure fragile and high‑shrink items. Monitor tire and battery order status, assist members with installation appointments, communicate lead‑time changes or cancellations, and recommend alternative solutions. Provide expert member service: greet members, assess needs, recommend suitable tire and battery products, explain warranties, and ensure a positive shopping experience. Drive sales and service excellence by communicating the value of merchandise and services and collaborating with club associates to increase member awareness. Triage and prioritize the service workflow in TBC bays, using Sam’s Garage to identify waiting members and reorder appointments to maximize efficiency. Operate TBC equipment safely and correctly, receive, store, and dispose of merchandise, and complete necessary documentation. Leverage digital tools and handheld devices to plan sales, improve the customer experience, make real‑time business decisions, and promote new technologies among team members. Serve as a brand advocate by modeling high‑quality service, influencing teammates, and assisting with training and development. Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including the Open Door Policy and integrity guidelines. Collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and business partners to identify priorities, meet deadlines, and recommend improvement opportunities. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills while handling challenging situations with professionalism and empathy. Process member purchases, payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types. Qualifications Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Minimum age of 18 years. Preferred: Auto service industry or retail experience. Compensation Hourly wage range: $19.00 to $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate may be higher and may include premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
