Work Environment

Fast-paced outpatient physical therapy clinic supporting multiple providers and clinical staff. This position works at the front desk and serves as the first point of contact for patients. The clinic is one of the busier locations, requiring strong multitasking skills, reliability, and the ability to balance patient interactions, phone calls, and administrative responsibilities throughout the day.

Schedule

• Monday: 6:30 AM - 12:30 PM

• Tuesday: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM

• Wednesday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

• Thursday: 6:30 AM - 4:00 PM

• Friday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate:

$19.00/hour

Duration:

90 Days (Contract-to-Hire)

About the Role

The Patient Service Specialist is responsible for creating a positive patient experience while managing front desk operations at a busy physical therapy clinic. This role involves patient registration, appointment scheduling, answering phones, maintaining patient records within the EMR system, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and can effectively multitask between patients, providers, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform check-in and check-out procedures

• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic information

• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits

• Answer inbound phone calls and assist patients with inquiries

• Document patient and provider information within the EMR system

• Support insurance verification and patient account activities

• Assist with Medicaid and prior authorization processes

• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and visitors

• Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to support daily operations

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous front desk, receptionist, or patient service experience

• Experience with patient registration and scheduling

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Experience working with computers and EMR systems

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Reliable attendance and strong organizational skills

• Healthcare or medical office experience preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
