Open Rank Lecturer II or III - Speech Hearing Sciences Position Summary: The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month appointment as an Open Rank Lecturer II or III beginning August 10, 2026. The department seeks a generalist in Speech‑Language Pathology who:

• has knowledge and experience to teach undergraduate courses in Speech and Hearing Sciences
• has knowledge and experience to teach graduate courses for the Master’s in Speech‑Language Pathology program
• can provide clinical supervision of graduate students in our university training clinic
• has clinical experience across a breadth of speech‑language pathology areas. The successful candidate must be a certified speech‑language pathologist eligible for a license in New Mexico. The lecturer will teach undergraduate and graduate courses as needed and provide clinical supervision. Workload is determined by the department chair and university policies. The candidate is expected to contribute to the department’s mission and strategic plan.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master’s (Lecturer II) or Clinical Doctorate (Lecturer III) in speech‑language pathology. Degree completed at least 3 years prior to the start date. Two years of clinical experience past the clinical fellowship. ASHA’s Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech‑Language Pathology. Eligibility for a New Mexico license to provide speech‑language pathology services. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in speech and hearing sciences. Varied experience in clinic service delivery across the lifespan and a range of disorders. Experience supervising graduate students and/or clinical fellows. Experience working with and providing services to multilingual populations. Commitment to cultivating an understanding of the diverse cultures of New Mexico and supporting the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
