Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Tax Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in income tax preparation and research, detailed understanding of tax laws as well as experience with transactions, and basis calculations is required. This role requires a current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation with 5 years of experience in the field.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Provide expert advice on tax planning and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Assist clients with responses to tax notices and audits, including representing them before tax authorities as applicable.
• Analyze financial transactions and calculate tax implications for various transactions including sale of assets, sale of corporate stock and corporate liquidations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive tax solutions.

Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily in an indoor office environment, free from extreme weather conditions. Work may include a moderate amount of noise (business office with computers, phone and printers).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn new software (currently CCH Axcess)
• Good to strong technical skills in tax matters
• Must have excellent organizational and time management skills
• Attention to detail, ability to self-review and take direction
• Must have the ability to communicate with clients and coworkers via email and phone in a professional manner
• Willingness to learn and take responsibility for work product is essential

Training, Academic and Experiential Requirements:

• Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
• 5 years of experience in tax preparation and advisory roles.
• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Strong understanding of transaction knowledge and basis calculation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a public accounting firm. Advanced degree in Taxation or related field. Strong project management skills.
