Dogs - Enrichment Assistant
Broward County Animal Care
Enrichment is a crucial part of the shelter environment and helps to improve the stay of each animal by providing outlets for species typical behaviors to reduces stress and improve welfare-- great for the mental health of each individual animal. This position will mainly focus on the preparation of various types of in-kennel enrichment, promote psychological well-being, prevent stress, and improve adoptability for the dogs in our care through positive interaction.
- Preparation of Food prep enrichment items – Kongs, Frisbees, frozen pup cups, etc.
- Clean & restock lobby greeter treat dispensing station
- Keep treat pouches empty and clickers disinfected in volunteer breakroom
- Refill treat bucket & organize shelf in Volunteer breakroom
- Assist with Dishes & laundry
- Empty garbage in food prep room
- Monitor donations area
- Clicks for calm/clicks for quiet
- Maintain clean area in food prep room
- Other duties assigned
