Details 207-bed hospital in Charlotte, NC with no trauma designation and not a teaching facility Facility features a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center Home unit assigned on first day of orientation, selected from several Med/Surg/Tele units with varying bed counts and patient populations (12-48 beds) Patient types include CHF, COPD, chest pain workup, stroke, respiratory issues, ESRD, GI bleed, detox, and post-surgical patients depending on unit 7North/South Ortho Surgical unit requires additional ortho experience and spinal precautions knowledge RN to patient ratio of 1:5-6, with critical surge ratios up to 1:7-8 CNA to patient ratio ranges from 1:6-12 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, averaging 36 hours per week Weekend rotation required every other weekend No on-call requirements Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, Central Division facilities) as needed within scope of practice Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors No dedicated telemetry monitoring tech support on unit Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty unit, with most recent experience within the last year General Med/Tele skillset required including cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management Experience managing medication drips including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF required Ortho experience and spinal precautions knowledge required for 7North/South Ortho Surgical unit Epic EMR experience required Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration One professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required Additional Information Provide direct patient care across a range of medical and surgical telemetry diagnoses depending on assigned unit Supported by CNA, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, resource nurse, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation Holiday coverage requires working 75% of designated holidays RTO allows up to 6 days off excluding holidays, with contract extension required if contracted hours are not met Schedule operates on a 6-week cycle Navy scrub color required Free parking provided Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted under this radius rule Former AHSE permanent employees must be separated for at least one year before eligibility First-time travelers are not preferred but will be considered American Traveler Job ID P-745539.
