About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Operational Finance to take on a pivotal role in leading the financial operations of its air testing division. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning within a multi-site North American field-services business. This includes leading the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accurate GAAP-compliant reporting, and partnering with operational leaders on margin improvement, pricing strategy, and KPI development. The role also involves overseeing revenue recognition, accruals, fixed assets, SOX compliance, and internal controls, as well as leading ERP enhancements, financial system standardization, and process automation. The VP will serve as a key liaison across various functions and will be expected to support M&A activities and lead a geographically dispersed finance team. Applicants for the VP of Operational Finance position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' of progressive finance and accounting experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong background in operational finance or FP&A within a services or project-based business. Public company experience is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business is required, with a CPA, CMA, or MBA being a plus. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in margin improvement, M&A, and leading distributed teams, as well as strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and hands-on experience with P2P, O2C, and R2R cycles. Experience with ERP systems and finance transformation, particularly with Workday, is highly valued. The role demands an individual with executive presence, and strong communication, and influencing skills, who can effectively lead and develop a finance team.
