Accounts Payable Lead

This position is responsible for coordinating daily activities relating to Iowa Western’s accounts payable. Responsibilities Demonstrates IWCC’s core mission, vision and values Verify, enter, and file documentation Perform check runs, generate student refund wire file, reconcile payments Prepare board report Audit purchase card receipts, ensure transactions align with policy Research outstanding items or questions Update spreadsheets with W9 information Initiate the ACH implementation process and manage the workflow Contact new and existing vendors to drive enrollment in the virtual card program Assist with implementation of new student refund platform Prepare 1099 tax forms Follow state and IRS guidelines Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum 1 year accounting or business office experience Strong research and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final reports, to problem solve, and to manage time and output Excellent customer service skills required Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Ability to function collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, customer oriented team Professional in communications, appearance, relationships, and responsiveness Positive attitude Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision Ability to pass a background check Physical Requirements The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear Ability to lift up to 10lbs Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle.
