About The Client Our client is a prominent law firm with offices in Washington, D.C., and Seattle, committed to advancing civic engagement, progressive initiatives, and nonprofit political organizations. They proudly represent a diverse range of clients, including PACs, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) groups, and various Democratic political entities, all united by a common purpose. The Opportunity As a Corporate Paralegal, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the compliance and smooth operation of nonprofit and political organizations. You'll be instrumental in: Entity Formation & Maintenance: Forming and maintaining nonprofit corporate entities, including drafting and preparing all necessary formation documents. Regulatory Filings: Drafting and submitting state and federal reports to maintain good standing, as well as preparing and filing submissions with the FEC, IRS, and other regulatory bodies. Record Management: Maintaining highly organized client corporate records and meticulously tracking all filings. Compliance & Research: Conducting thorough campaign finance research, vetting donors for compliance, and performing legal research on corporate compliance matters. Litigation Support: Supporting attorneys with post-election recounts and other related legal matters. Client Communication: Assisting with the creation of presentations, legal memos, and client briefings, and responding to audit requests and regulatory inquiries. Team Collaboration: Collaborating closely with paralegals and attorneys to efficiently divide tasks and ensure continuity of work. Time-Sensitive Projects: Actively participating in time-sensitive, election-related projects that may require flexibility and overtime. What You'll Bring Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of corporate paralegal experience in a law firm or business setting. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered. Preferred Experience: Experience forming and managing nonprofit entities is highly preferred. Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and multi-tasking abilities. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with legal research tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis is a plus. Passion: A strong interest in political or nonprofit legal work is a significant advantage. Availability: Ability to work overtime during election cycles and filing deadlines. Why Join This Team?
