Registered Nurse – Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays with some weekends | Possible Extension

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown / Intermediate Care Unit setting with varying acuity levels
• Maintain a standard patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergency situations
• Perform IV starts and continuous telemetry monitoring, including strip reading
• Utilize electronic medical records system (Cerner) for documentation and care coordination
• Care for patients whose acuity may range from medical/telemetry to progressive care levels

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact RN license (pending license acceptable)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience overall
• At least 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical or Telemetry setting
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care environment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
• Proficiency in IV insertion, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac strip interpretation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Familiarity with progressive care or higher-acuity stepdown patient populations
