Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work. Work Environment: This job operates both in teams and alone in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as a base of operations. - Assists in Installing and maintaining commercial plumbing systems.
- Performs routine maintenance/repairs on boilers, water lines, sanitary and grease lines, and building storm systems.
- Inspects and tests systems to determine condition and needed repairs.
- Addresses customer concerns with their current plumbing systems.
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
- Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
- Tests systems for leaks.
- Recommend, develop, or perform preventative or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or replacement of parts.
- Assists with other work in coordination with repair and maintenance teams.
- Participates in monthly safety program duties and training.
- Works alongside Journeyperson Plumbers to promote a learning environment. At times, the Apprentice may work individually.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and enrollment in an apprenticeship program.
- Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, and local plumbing codes and standards.
- Effective communication with internal team and customers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read written reference materials, and perform math.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and motor vehicle report.
- Drug Testing may be required.
