Job DescriptionAmerican Tax & CPA Services is seeking a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) specializing in Trusts (Form 1041), Schedule K-1s, and Real Estate Transactions to assist with year-round and off-season trust tax return preparation.
This is a 1099 contract role structured for total flexibility—especially during off-season months. Paid on a $30 per completed return basis, what you earn is entirely up to you and the amount of work you choose to accept. Whether you want to take on a light file load for supplemental income or process high volumes on your own timeline, you have complete control over your capacity.

Key Responsibilities
- Trust & Estate Filings: Prepare and review complex trust tax returns (Form 1041), including simple, complex, and grantor trusts.
- Schedule K-1 Processing: Accurately analyze, generate, and report Schedule K-1 distributions to beneficiaries.
- Final Trust & Estate Returns: Execute final trust and estate tax filings following property liquidations, pass-through distribution events, or final estate settlements.
- Real Estate & Property Transactions: Accurately calculate capital gains/losses, cost basis adjustments, and tax liabilities resulting from home sales, real estate liquidations, and property transfers.
- Compliance & Technical Review: Ensure all returns comply strictly with federal and Florida state tax laws and estate guidelines.
Qualifications
- Credential: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (Florida or reciprocal state).
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Form 1041 (Trusts & Estates), Schedule K-1 pass-through reporting, final trust return filings, and property sales/basis reporting.
- Efficiency & Accuracy: Capability to independently navigate complex fiduciary documents, trust agreements, and real estate closing statements.
- Software Competency: Comfort using professional tax software (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, ProSeries) and electronic document management.
