Cal/OSHA and Employment Litigation Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Cal/OSHA and Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of employment litigation or OSHA experience to join a leading national law firm and its Workplace Safety practice.
LocationsIrvine, CA | Los Angeles, CA | Sacramento, CA | San Diego, CA | San Francisco, CA | Silicon Valley, CA | Woodland Hills, CA
Position OverviewThis is an excellent opportunity for an employment litigator or OSHA attorney interested in developing specialized workplace safety experience. The associate will dedicate at least 50% of their practice to supporting the firm's Workplace Safety Practice Group while handling employment litigation matters.
Prior experience with Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or other state OSHA enforcement actions is preferred, but even limited exposure is valuable.
Responsibilities- Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings.
- Draft and argue motions and other legal briefs.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Support workplace safety matters and enforcement actions.
- Advise clients regarding workplace safety and employment-related legal issues.
- Assist with matters involving Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, and other state OSHA plans.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm's employment and workplace safety practices.
- At least 2 years of employment litigation or OSHA experience.
- Experience with workplace safety-related enforcement actions brought by Cal/OSHA, Federal OSHA, or other state OSHA plans preferred.
- Strong litigation skills, including experience with discovery, pleadings, motion practice, and depositions.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the California Bar required.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000–$270,000 annually , depending on office location, experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and other job-related factors.
