Regional Controller

Regional Controller Location: North Haven, CT; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL. This hybrid role requires travel up to 30% throughout the region and to our corporate office in Denver, CO. Guardian Restoration Partners is seeking a Regional Controller to oversee accounting operations and month‑end close processes across multiple partner company locations within an assigned geographic region. The role ensures consistent application of GAAP accounting standards, Guardian policies, and maintains financial controls across all regional operations. The Regional Controller serves as the primary accounting liaison between corporate headquarters and partner companies, focusing on accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and oversight of back‑office operations. Key Responsibilities Lead month‑end close processes across partner companies, preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries in compliance with GAAP and Guardian policies. Oversee and perform complex account reconciliations for cash, AR, AP, inventory, and balance sheet accounts. Provide direct oversight and management of back‑office managers at partner companies, ensuring accurate transaction recording and subledger maintenance. Maintain internal accounting controls, ensure compliance with Guardian policies, coordinate with external auditors, and oversee procurement and expense processes. Play a key role in preparing new acquisitions for integration into Guardian, including training and adoption of finance and accounting policies and technology integration. Partner with regional FP&A teams to support forecasting, provide accurate accounting data, and support interpretation of financial results. Ensure timely completion of month‑end checklist and other reporting deadlines in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Support corporate initiatives such as acquisition due diligence, special accounting projects, audit coordination, implementation of new accounting standards, and ad‑hoc accounting analysis requests. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA certification preferred. Progressive accounting experience with management responsibilities in multi‑location or regional operations, including hands‑on month‑end close and reconciliation experience. Expertise in GAAP accounting, journal entries, month‑end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting in a multi‑entity environment. Prior management experience overseeing accounting teams, back‑office operations, and staff development. Experience with accounting systems implementation, process improvement, and internal controls in a corporate environment. Experience with internal controls, compliance management, and audit support. Experience with significant business expansion and bolt‑on acquisitions, including accounting policy and process integration. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, reconciliation techniques). Advanced knowledge of Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems with multi‑entity/location capabilities (Sage Intacct highly preferred). Proficiency with FloQast, Ramp, or similar close management and expense platforms. Strong cross‑functional communication and collaboration skills. Ability to travel up to 30% within the region and to Denver, CO. Compensation Base salary range: $155,000 – $175,000 plus bonus. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
