Structural Steel Layout Fitter / Fabricator???? Position Summary

Join a growing structural steel fabrication team responsible for fitting, fabricating, and welding structural steel components. This hands-on role requires blueprint reading, layout fitting, flux-core welding, overhead crane operation, and working with large steel assemblies while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Pay: $24-$30/hr based on experience

1st Shift and 2nd Shift Available

• Monday-Friday
• 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM
• Some Saturdays as needed

• Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components from blueprints
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
• Perform structural steel welding (Flux-Core/FCAW)
• Operate overhead cranes to move and position materials
• Use cutting and heating torches for steel modifications and heat corrections
• Check beam camber and sweep tolerances and make adjustments as needed
• Set up jigs and fixtures for fabrication and welding projects
• Maintain quality standards and inspect finished work
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Support daily production needs within the structural department

• Structural steel fitting and layout experience
• Flux-core welding experience on structural steel
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
• Experience operating overhead cranes
• Knowledge of beam layout, fit-up, and structural assemblies
• Experience using cutting and heating torches
• Strong attention to detail and workmanship
• Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial environment
• Ability to handle and work around large steel components

• Experience checking camber and sweep tolerances
• Experience setting up complex jigs and assemblies
• Ownership of basic fitting and welding tools
• Strong safety awareness and work ethic
• Reliable attendance and team-oriented attitude

• Structural steel fabrication shop
• Loud, heavy industrial setting
• Dedicated welding station
• Overhead cranes operating throughout the facility
• Steel-toe boots and safety glasses required
• Employees provide their own basic tools

• Stable workload supported by long-term contracts

• PTO Program:
  • 1 week after 3 months
  • 2 weeks after 6 months
  • Additional PTO with tenure (up to 3 weeks)

This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in York,PA.
