The Opportunity We're seeking an Accounting Manager who enjoys hands-on accounting and wants room to grow. You'll play a key role in PBS's internal financial operations, supporting accurate reporting, cash management, and month-end close across multiple entities. You'll work with management, accounting colleagues, and external partners to resolve issues and improve processes. This role offers potential to grow into a Controller position as you demonstrate strong performance and readiness for broader financial leadership. It's an opportunity to deepen your accounting expertise while building toward greater responsibility. What You'll Do Monitor daily cash activity, investigate discrepancies, reconcile bank accounts, and coordinate authorized payments and transfers. Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, review staff reconciliations, and reconcile intercompany balances to support month-end close. Manage client billing and accounts payable activities, verify charges against approved quotes, and resolve billing discrepancies. Review vendor invoices, company credit-card activity, and employee expenses for accuracy and appropriate documentation. Prepare monthly financial reports for management and assist with analyses and process improvements. Coordinate information for annual Form 1099 preparation and support external financial statement audits. Maintain organized records and follow internal controls, approval requirements, and confidentiality standards. Coordinate with vendors and support approved purchasing and other assigned operational needs. What We're Looking For Associate degree or higher in Accounting or a related field. Three to five years of experience in an accounting department environment. Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks Online, with the ability to learn banking, payroll, billing, expense, and payment platforms. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling financial information. Clear communication and the ability to work independently, collaborate across departments, and manage deadlines. An interest in improving processes and developing toward broader accounting leadership responsibilities.
