We are committed to strong financial performance, long-term shareholder value creation, and disciplined strategic growth.Position Overview 1870 Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its executive leadership team and support the fiscal management of the holding company and its subsidiaries. Reporting directly to the President, this role plays a critical part in consolidated financial reporting, audit management, shareholder reporting, and strategic financial analysis.This position is a key component of the company’s long-term succession plan, with the expectation that the successful candidate will be prepared to transition into the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role within 3–5 years.Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting • Lead the preparation of consolidated monthly financial statements for the holding company and subsidiaries. • Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial results across multiple banks and other operating entities. • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to executive leadership and the board of directors. • Support budgeting and forecasting for the consolidated entity.Audit Management • Serve as the primary coordinator for the annual financial statement audit. • Manage relationships with external auditors and oversee timely completion of audit deliverables. • Coordinate with internal accounting teams and subsidiary entities to ensure full audit readiness.Shareholder Accounting & Reporting • Assist the Executive Secretary in maintaining accurate shareholder records, including stock ownership and transactions. • Assist in preparing shareholder communications and financial reporting materials. • Support dividend calculations and related compliance requirements.Human Resources Support • Provide accounting support for payroll and benefit plans. • Assist leadership in administering existing executive benefits and developing additional performance-based compensation plans.Strategic Financial Analysis • Develop financial models to support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. • Assist executive leadership with capital planning, financial forecasting, and performance modeling.Tax Coordination & Oversight • Coordinate with external tax advisors on the preparation and review of federal and state tax filings. • Assist with gathering information and supporting schedules for tax compliance. • Review tax provisions and ensure alignment with financial reporting. • Maintain a working understanding of tax implications related to corporate structure, dividends, and strategic initiatives.Governance Support • Prepare financial materials and analyses for board and committee meetings. • Support corporate governance standards and regulatory financial reporting requirements.## QualificationsEducation • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required • CPA strongly preferredExperience • Approximately 10 years of experience in banking, financial services, or public accounting with financial institutions • Preferred background in community banking, bank holding company accounting, and consolidated financial reportingSkills & Competencies • Strong understanding of GAAP financial statement preparation and consolidation • Demonstrated experience managing external audits • Advanced financial modeling and strategic analysis skills • Excellent organizational and project management abilities • Effective communication skills, including interaction with executive leadership and boards • High integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial informationCareer Path & Succession Planning This role is intentionally designed to prepare the successful candidate for advancement into the Chief Financial Officer position within 3–5 years.
