NOW HIRING: HR Operations Specialist – Leave & Benefits

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Hours: Hybrid | 4 Days Onsite + 1 Flexible Day
Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Contract/ Temp- Short-Term Leave Coverage
Pay Rate: $35- $40 depending on experience 

We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist – Leave & Benefits to support HR service delivery, employee relations, benefits, payroll, and leave administration. This role is ideal for an HR professional with strong FMLA and Leave of Absence experience who can confidently manage sensitive employee matters and work across multiple HR functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, parental, military, and state-specific leaves .
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, HR partners, and third-party administrators throughout the leave process.
• Manage leave cases from initiation through closure, including documentation, communication, and case tracking.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and company policies.
• Partner with payroll, benefits teams, and disability vendors to ensure accurate leave pay and benefits continuation.
• Provide HR consultation and solutions related to benefits, payroll, learning and development, talent acquisition, and talent management.
• Conduct research, analysis, audits, and data processing related to HR programs.
• Identify complex HR issues and provide appropriate recommendations or escalate when necessary.
• Support HR process improvements and special projects.
• Maintain accurate, confidential employee records.
• Collaborate with employees, managers, and HR teams to resolve HR questions and concerns.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of Human Resources experience in employment, benefits, payroll, leave administration, or a related HR function.
• Must have hands-on FMLA experience.
• Must have Leave of Absence (LOA) HR experience.
• Experience managing employee leave cases from beginning through closure.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local leave requirements.
• Experience working with automated, multi-state employment processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multiple teams.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint .

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration , or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
