Randall Road,Elgin, IL, 60123,United States Base Pay $91,761.00 - $126,171.00 / Year Job Category Maintenance Supervisor Industry Food Manufacturing, Food Processing, Manufacturing Employee Type Full-Time Required Degree 2 Year Degree Manage Others Yes Summary of the Position : The maintenance supervisor manages all phases of manufacturing, processing, and packaging machinery inclusive of facility building maintenance personnel and day to day manufacturing operations to ensure equipment is maintained and repaired in a cost efficient manner. Functions of the Position : Manages all phases of processing, packaging and facility equipment and staff of technicians, fabricators and building maintenance personnel, etc. including: hiring, daily supervision, training, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Prepares work, maintenance, and staffing schedule, assigns work appropriately and ensures services are performed to meet manufacturing and facility needs. Plans, manages and reviews computer maintenance management system (CMMS) for preventative maintenance and repair schedules. Makes recommendations to improve efficiencies and reduce down time, labor, and over-time expenses. Manages equipment purchasing and contract services as necessary. Works with purchasing department on negotiation and any contract work as needed. Monitors costs and yearly budget. Ensures compliance with OSHA and safety regulations. Trains staff in safety as necessary. Assists in additional duties and responsibilities as needed. Supervisory Responsibility This position does have supervisory responsibilities. Maintenance Technician I, II, III Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician Qualifications Education, Experience, and Knowledge Ten or more years of experience in maintenance and staff management, preferably within the food industry. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, machine building, PLCs, and community codes. High school diploma or equivalent required.
