(USA) Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary General Facilities Maintenance Technician at a local Walmart retail store will execute routine maintenance tasks to uphold safety, functionality, and aesthetics of store facilities, equipment, and fixtures, under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager. Key Responsibilities Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment) and hand/power tools. Use the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities. Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls. Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues. Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely. Position Requirements 18 years or older. High School Diploma or equivalent. Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. Can move up and down ladders frequently. Comfortable working at heights frequently. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Able to work in various temperatures. Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in one of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade. Compensation Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, level of job offer, qualifications and other job‑related factors. Minimum Qualifications Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade. Vocational or Technical certification and 5 years’ experience in the same trades. Valid driver’s license. Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Preferred Qualifications Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical trade program. License in related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located. Intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
