As a counselor at Riverwoods Academy, you will have the ability to manage your schedule while connecting with clients via teletherapy, phone consultations, and in-person visits when necessary. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough ongoing assessments to evaluate and address the specific needs of each patient, ensuring tailored therapeutic interventions.

• Maintain clear communication with supervisors, direct care staff, family members, and other stakeholders to discuss patient progress and necessary adjustments to treatment plans.

• Prepare and submit a tentative schedule of appointments, home visits, and monitoring tasks to supervisors, fostering structure and accountability in treatment delivery.

• Coordinate home visits effectively to perform in-home observations, conduct detailed chart reviews, engage in staff interviews, and analyze relevant data.

• Ensure the execution of treatment plans is consistent and objective-driven, adapting strategies based on ongoing assessments.
\n
• Participate actively in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings and contribute to clinical discussions aimed at enhancing patient care quality.
\n
• Document monthly and quarterly progress notes to track patient development and inform treatment adjustments.
\n
• Organize and facilitate training for staff involved in program plan implementation to maintain competency and improve service delivery.
\n
• Provide continued support through follow-up interviews and home visits as needed, demonstrating commitment to the long-term success of our patients.

• Maintain comprehensive records for each patient, ensuring that relevant information is accessible to authorized individuals.

• Act as a liaison with the mental health community to promote collaboration and shared goals for patient wellness.

• Assist in the development of procedures and training materials aimed at improving therapeutic programs for diverse populations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will engage with a varied patient population, including both youth and adults, addressing diverse mental health issues such as trauma, substance misuse, and family dynamics. As a counselor, you will provide empathetic care across different treatment modalities, ensuring inclusivity and consideration of unique backgrounds and experiences of each individual.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is mandatory.

• An active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional counseling experience, preferably within a clinical or therapeutic context.

• A specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse, or trauma treatment is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n
