As a Security Officer - Afternoon Museum Patrol in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal at a renowned art museum, where you will patrol galleries and public areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist guests with exceptional customer service. This unarmed role offers the chance to support a welcoming cultural location through strong communication, teamwork, and integrity while helping protect people, artwork, and the overall visitor experience.

- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
- Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, entrances, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity, offering directions and information while supporting established rules for visitors, deliveries, and/or after-hours access.
- Support the protection of artwork, exhibits, and other property by observing visitor activity, reporting policy violations, and assisting with crowd management during events, busy hours, and/or special programs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
