Accounting Clerk
$24/hr Temp to perm All on-site in Lawrence, MA
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions, assist with month-end close activities, greet visitors and handle inbound telephone calls to the general phone number.
Essential Job Functions
- Readily takes action on challenges, without unnecessary planning while identifying and seizing new opportunities.
- Displays a can-do attitude and steps up to handle tough issues.
- Responds to customer and supplier calls and emails in a timely manner.
- Process sales invoices and credits.
- Proactive collection activities as needed.
- Work with customer Accounts Payable contacts to clean up / correct balances and expedite payments.
- Process purchase order invoices, vouchers and supplier payments.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure proper paperwork trail, payment authorizations and processing of packing slips.
- Run daily activity report.
- Process remote deposits of customer payments.
- Prepare positive pay file and initiate wire transfers.
- Clear checks as they clear the bank and reconcile bank statements.
- Greet visitors and assist with sign-ins.
- Answer inbound phone calls.
- Process inbound and outbound mail.
- Maintain office supply inventory and restock as needed.
- Comply with corporate and site policies and procedures.
