IT Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and solutions-oriented IT Coordinator to support the technology needs of our nonprofit organization. The IT Coordinator will help ensure that volunteers have reliable access to the systems, tools, and technical resources they need to carry out our mission effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Provide basic technical support to volunteers through email, chat, or video calls.
• Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access to organizational software and platforms.
• Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding staff and volunteers from technology systems.
• Troubleshoot common software, connectivity, and account-access issues.
• Support the organization in maintaining appropriate data security, password practices, access controls, and software updates.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of organizational technology, software, and accounts.
• Create and maintain simple IT documentation.
• Coordinate with external technology vendors or service providers when necessary.
• Help identify opportunities to improve remote collaboration, productivity, and digital accessibility.
• Assist with basic data backup and recovery procedures.
• Promote good cybersecurity and technology practices among staff and volunteers.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling organizational information and user data.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of IT systems, troubleshooting, and technical support.
• Experience with cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools including MS Teams and Outlook.
• Familiarity with account administration, user permissions, and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to people with different levels of technical knowledge.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and respond professionally to support requests.
• Previous experience in IT support, systems administration, help desk support, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Time commitment:

Approximately 4–6 hours per week, with flexibility depending on organizational needs and the volunteer's availability.
