Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients’ homes or group therapy within our outpatient center, focusing on therapeutic methodologies that align with each child’s unique needs.

• Utilize evidence-based practices to provide services that address anxiety, anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills, aiming to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious actions and aggression.

• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with caregivers, focusing on improving decision-making skills to facilitate healthier home environments.
\n
• Engage in multidisciplinary teamwork by consistently collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team and other associated care professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families.

• Complete and submit required documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, in a timely manner according to administrative guidelines.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to contribute insights and discuss best practices, sharing recommendations to continually improve service outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on providing therapy to children ages 3 to 20 who are coping with various developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapists will be instrumental in creating individualized plans that address the specific needs of each child, facilitating better family dynamics, and supporting caregivers in enhancing their approaches to behavioral challenges. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required for this position.

• An active, unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory for therapeutic practices in New Jersey.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is essential, with weekend availability viewed as an additional asset.

• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a registered vehicle for home visits.

• All applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is highly preferred.

• Prior experience working with children facing intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is considered a strong advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and credentials.
