Work Environment\n

This position is designed to be remote, enabling flexibility while also allowing for home visits as needed for in-home therapy sessions. You will work in partnership with other professionals to develop effective treatment plans, which will significantly improve client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions either within the client's home or at our outpatient clinic, adapting methods to fit each child's unique needs.
\n
• Assist clients with developing appropriate anger management strategies, coping mechanisms, and social skills while addressing risky behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB).
\n
• Enhance decision-making skills in both adolescents and their caregivers, helping families manage behavioral challenges more effectively in their home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for our clients.
\n
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of treatment plans, intake records, and progress notes as mandated by regulatory standards.
\n
• Participate actively in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations to improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our focus is on providing therapeutic services to a diverse group of young clients, ranging in age from 3 to 20 years old, many of whom are diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). As an LMFT, you will be instrumental in executing in-community therapy sessions that aim to improve not only mental health but also social and emotional skills in children with various capabilities and challenges.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• A valid, active, and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this role.
\n
• Availability for 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 pm; weekend availability is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience in providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions aimed at youth.
\n
• Experience working with children aged 3-20, especially those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with caregivers and other professionals to create supportive solutions for children.

• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are necessary for home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n
