Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or through virtual platforms, ensuring personalized therapeutic interventions.

• Organize and facilitate group therapy sessions within our outpatient clinic, addressing the collective needs of children and their families.
\n
• Implement strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, by teaching essential social skills, coping mechanisms, and anger management techniques.
\n
• Enhance decision-making skills for both children and caregivers, aiming to mitigate in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other specialists, developing integrated care plans that effectively support client goals and family dynamics.
\n
• Document all pertinent client interactions, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, meticulously adhering to established timelines.
\n
• Participate actively in team meetings, sharing insights and recommendations to enhance overall client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities. By engaging with this diverse group, you will tailor your approaches to individual circumstances and needs, ensuring that each child receives appropriate and effective support. Your ability to communicate in Spanish or Portuguese will enable you to connect deeply with bilingual families, enhancing their comfort and willingness to engage in the therapeutic process.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) certification.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with additional availability on weekends being a significant advantage.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes are mandatory.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Hands-on experience providing positive behavior support is highly desirable.

• Previous experience working with children aged 3-20, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is a considerable plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
