In this role, you will provide critical in-home and community-based therapeutic services to children and adolescents navigating developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions to address behavioral issues, fostering an environment where children can thrive.

• Facilitate group therapy sessions as needed, ensuring that children learn peer interaction skills essential for their development.

• Implement therapeutic interventions that focus on decreasing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, by teaching coping mechanisms and social skills.

• Collaborate regularly with the Child Family Treatment Team and other health professionals to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs.
\n
• Document and submit treatment plans, progress notes, and relevant assessments within prescribed timeframes to ensure continuity of care.

• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and make recommendations for enhancing therapy effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is children and adolescents aged 3 to 20, especially those facing developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). You will work closely with families, understanding their unique dynamics and challenges to provide person-centered care tailored to individual circumstances. Becoming a trusted partner in the care of these youth, you will navigate their specific needs and support long-term behavioral improvements.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory to practice.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is necessary, with weekend availability being a plus.

• Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a registered vehicle for travel to client locations.
\n
• Completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required for all candidates.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and intervention strategies.

• Previous work with children and adolescents who have intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.

• Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Portuguese are beneficial, enhancing communication with diverse client populations.
