Three Rivers Mental Health Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. Work Environment\n

This position allows for a flexible work environment, primarily conducted remotely, with opportunities for in-person sessions at our outpatient facility when necessary. As part of our team, you will have access to a broad range of resources designed to facilitate effective therapy, including teletherapy platforms, collaborative meeting structures, and ongoing administrative support.

Key Responsibilities\n

In your role as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting individual in-home therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions at our outpatient clinic.
\n
• Implementing therapeutic techniques to manage high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and aggression, focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training.
\n
• Enhancing decision-making skills for both the child and their caregivers to address day-to-day behavioral challenges in the home environment.
\n
• Actively collaborating with our Child Family Treatment Team and other specialists to ensure cohesive support for the child and their family unit.
\n
• Submitting essential documentation—including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes—promptly and in accordance with organizational standards.
\n
• Participating in team meetings and providing recommendations based on insights from your sessions.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role involves working with children and adolescents aged 3-20 who have developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will be engaged with a diverse client base, providing culturally competent care, particularly for Spanish and Portuguese-speaking families. Your experience will enable you to understand the unique challenges these children face, thus allowing for personalized therapeutic interventions that promote their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Hold a Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
\n
• Possess an active and unrestricted LMFT license in Massachusetts.
\n
• Be available to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week after school hours, between 4-7 PM, with flexibility on weekends.
\n
• Have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel to client sites.
\n
• Pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application:

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies in challenging situations.
\n
• Direct experience working with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\n
• A proficiency in providing therapy in both English and Spanish or Portuguese to cater to our diverse client population.
