This role is uniquely positioned within a remote work environment, which enables you to connect with clients from the comfort of your home while allowing for a flexible schedule. Although primarily remote, the opportunity to conduct in-home therapy sessions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams is an integral part of the job. Our outpatient clinic is equipped to facilitate group therapy sessions, providing a hybrid model that balances flexibility with structured support.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients’ homes or group therapy in our outpatient clinic, tailoring your approach to meet the specific needs of each child and family.

• Implement effective behavioral interventions, aiming to reduce high-risk behaviors like self-injury or aggression through the teaching of anger management and coping skills.
\n
• Enhance caregivers' decision-making abilities by providing tools and strategies to effectively address behavioral issues at home.
\n
• Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to each child's treatment plan.
\n
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all client interactions, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to prescribed timelines.

• Participate actively in case meetings, offering insights and recommendations to continuously improve therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with children and adolescents aged 3-20, many of whom present with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your clinical expertise will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life, improving emotional regulation, social interactions, and behavioral functioning. We value culturally competent providers, and candidates who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese are especially encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential for this position.

• Ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, with flexibility on weekends being a notable advantage.

• Experience in providing positive behavior support, particularly with children facing behavioral challenges.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior clinical experience working with children between the ages of 3-20, specifically with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies and frameworks that focus on improving relational dynamics within family systems.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home visits is a requirement.

• Ability to pass a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, as part of the hiring process.
