Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and the convenience of working from your home environment. Our outpatient office facilitates therapeutic sessions when needed, ensuring a comfortable setting for both therapists and clients. The role requires effective, empathic communication and active engagement in virtual meetings and documentation protocols, with the chance for in-person collaboration as necessary.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, which may occur in the client's home or through a telehealth platform, tailored to the specific needs of children and adolescents.

• Utilize evidence-based techniques to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious actions and aggression, through anger management and coping skills training.
\n
• Enhance decision-making abilities for both children and caregivers, aiming to address behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate extensively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other specialists to create a cohesive support network for clients and their families.
\n
• Maintain thorough documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring all submissions meet specified deadlines.
\n
• Engage in regular team meetings to discuss cases and provide insights or recommendations based on professional experience.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client population includes children and adolescents aged 3-20 with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Our focus encompasses a diverse range of needs, requiring therapists to be sensitive, adaptive, and skilled in managing various behavioral and emotional issues. In particular, we value bilingual candidates who speak Spanish or Portuguese, enhancing our capacity to serve families from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM) is essential. Weekend work options are beneficial.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for in-home visits.
\n
• A successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support is highly desirable.

• Previous experience working with children and youth, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, is a significant plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
