Work Environment\n

This position is remote but provides the opportunity to deliver in-home and outpatient therapeutic sessions across the state of Texas. Our outpatient office is equipped with resources to support your therapeutic practice, but the majority of your time will be spent working with clients directly in their own homes or via virtual sessions. Flexibility in work hours allows for engaging with clients primarily during after-school hours (4-7pm), with a possibility for weekend availability in order to meet client needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or facilitate group therapy in our outpatient facility, utilizing evidence-based modalities tailored to children and families.

• Implement specialized programs focusing on anger management, coping strategies, social skills training, and techniques to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.
\n
• Support families in improving their decision-making skills to manage behavior challenges at home, fostering proactive communication and problem-solving strategies.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and various multidisciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy that addresses all facets of a child’s wellbeing.

• Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes as per organizational standards.
\n
• Attend monthly team meetings to provide case updates and recommendations for ongoing interventions.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with children aged 3 to 20, many of whom face intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role requires sensitivity and adaptability to meet the unique needs of each child and their caregivers. Your ability to engage effectively with both the youth and their families will facilitate positive change and improved family dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• A commitment to work at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, with an openness to weekend sessions.
\n
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to visit clients in their homes when necessary.
\n
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support and implementing therapeutic interventions for children with behavioral challenges.

• Familiarity with working with diverse populations, particularly bilingual candidates who can speak Spanish or Portuguese are strongly encouraged to apply.

• Experience in fostering therapeutic relationships with youth experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities is a significant plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n
