This position is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from home while providing flexibility for work-life balance. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in the home setting or group therapy sessions within our outpatient center, utilizing evidence-based methods to address emotional and behavioral challenges.

• Implement strategies for anger management, coping skills, and social skills development to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Work closely with caregivers to enhance their decision-making skills, equipping them with practical tools to handle in-home behavioral issues effectively.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the diverse needs of our youth clients.
\n
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with regulatory standards.
\n
• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss progress and provide recommendations for individualized care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients primarily include children and teens aged 3-20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities, requiring tailored therapeutic approaches. As a therapist, you will work with diverse backgrounds and various family dynamics, providing culturally competent services that respect each individual’s unique situation. Your ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese will be instrumental in expanding access for these families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly in the late afternoon (4-7 PM) is essential, with weekend availability being a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for home visits are mandatory.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and implementing intervention strategies tailored to children with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Prior work with diverse youth populations, focusing on emotional and behavioral challenges, will be highly valued.

• Familiarity with therapeutic tools and methodologies relevant to child and family therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
