Open Sky Healing Counseling is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our committed team in providing high-quality therapeutic services. This full-time remote position is designed for individuals with a passion for supporting children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges, particularly those who are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering intensive in-community therapeutic services to help youth and families flourish.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions in Home settings or at our outpatient center, tailored specifically to the needs of the child and family.

• Implement therapeutic interventions including anger management strategies, coping mechanisms, and social skills training to mitigate high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Support both youth and caregivers in enhancing decision-making capabilities to effectively manage challenging behaviors within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team as well as allied professionals across disciplines to develop a holistic support network for families.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation of services provided, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
\n
• Participate actively in monthly team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and propose recommendations for service enhancement.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with children aged 3 to 20 who are facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Your expertise will be vital in addressing their unique needs, helping them navigate their environments, and promoting healthy emotional and social development. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Candidates must be available for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 pm) to meet the needs of our client families.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential for traveling to client homes or our outpatient center.
\n
• All applicants must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience in providing positive behavior support strategies and interventions is highly desirable.
\n
• Experience working specifically with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is a plus.
\n
• Bilingual candidates fluent in both English and Spanish or Portuguese are preferred, enabling increased accessibility to our diverse client population.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers an annual salary ranging from USD 60,000 to 80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
