Thrive Plus Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team as a full-time remote therapist. This role focuses on providing intensive in-community therapeutic services to children facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges throughout the state of New York. Ideal candidates are bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, enabling us to reach our diverse client demographic effectively.

Work Environment\n

This position offers a flexible and supportive remote work environment, allowing therapists to engage with clients primarily from the comfort of their homes .The outpatient office settings will serve as supplementary venues for group therapy sessions. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each child, facilitating a safe and supportive environment for open communication.
\n
• Implement group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, focusing on strengthening social skills, anger management, and coping strategies.
\n
• Work collaboratively to help children develop decision-making skills, thus effectively managing in-home behavioral challenges.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based methodologies to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.
\n
• Collaborate regularly with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for youth and their families.
\n
• Maintain thorough records and submit all required documentation, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, promptly and accurately.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings, contributing insights and recommendations that drive team strategy and enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role centers around working with children aged 3-20 who present with diverse developmental and intellectual challenges. Therapists will engage directly with children exhibiting a range of behaviors and emotional responses, and will support their primary caregivers as they navigate these complexities. The therapist’s role is vital in fostering an understanding and empathy within the family unit, improving relationships, and enhancing overall family dynamics.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted License as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during late afternoon hours, specifically from 4 PM to 7 PM, with some weekend availability being a plus.
\n
• Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.
\n
• Candidates must pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support and interventions tailored to children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
\n
• Familiarity with therapeutic practices for children with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred.
\n
• Prior experience working with a youthful demographic, especially those aged 3-20, will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits\n
