Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individualized therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of children and their families, either at the clients’ homes or via teletherapy.

• Implement therapeutic techniques to support clients in overcoming challenging emotional behaviors, such as self-injurious actions and anger, while enhancing coping strategies and social skills.

• Assist in developing and increasing decision-making capabilities for adolescents and caregivers, aimed at effectively managing behavioral issues at home.

• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary providers to ensure comprehensive care and consistent communication throughout the treatment process.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapeutic interventions, including intake evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational standards.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and develop intervention strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents ranging from ages 3 to 20, particularly those facing developmental disabilities and cognitive challenges. This position also welcomes bilingual therapists who can offer services in Spanish or Portuguese, further enhancing communication with diverse families and enabling us to cater to a broader community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential to practice in the state of California.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, primarily during after-school hours from 4 PM to 7 PM, with weekend flexibility preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential in-home visits are mandatory.

• Completion of a thorough criminal background check and fingerprinting is required before hiring.

Preferred Experience\n
