Work Environment\n

This position is designed for therapists to work remotely, with flexibility to meet clients in their homes or at our outpatient clinic in Brookhaven, New York. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions in clients' homes or the outpatient clinic, with an emphasis on fostering a safe and supportive space for exploration and healing.

• Implement therapeutic strategies for anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills development to assist clients in reducing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injury or physical aggression.
\n
• Facilitate discussions and workshops aimed at enhancing decision-making skills for both adolescents and their caregivers, thus equipping them to handle behavioral challenges effectively.
\n
• Collaborate closely with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each client's treatment and support.
\n
• Timely completion and submission of all relevant documentation, including intake assessments, individualized treatment plans, and progress notes to meet compliance and quality standards.
\n
• Participate in monthly staff meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and contribute recommendations for improvements in service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who are struggling with developmental disabilities, cognitive issues, and other mental health challenges. Your contributions will directly help families navigate the complexities associated with these conditions, providing them with tailored support that meets their unique needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.
\n
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4-7 PM. Weekend availability is a valued bonus.

• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavior support is essential.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior experience working with children aged 3 to 20 and specifically with clients who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n
