Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that align with the unique goals and preferences of each client, ensuring evidence-based practices are prioritized.

• Utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to provide effective treatment and support for clients struggling with mood disorders.

• Offer education and guidance to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment alternatives, coping strategies, and the importance of self-care in the recovery process.

• Monitor client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback, to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure a comprehensive approach to mental health treatment.

• Stay informed on the latest research, trends, and best practices in the treatment of mood disorders to improve service delivery and client outcomes.

• Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation that complies with all legal and ethical standards for client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans.

• Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities aimed at enhancing clinical skills and knowledge within mood disorder treatment.

• Act as an advocate for clients, working to reduce stigma surrounding mood disorders and promoting mental health awareness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on individuals suffering from mood disorders, many of whom may be experiencing significant distress and require immediate and empathetic support. You will engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, fostering strong therapeutic relationships built on trust and respect. Throughout your interactions, you will be mindful of cultural considerations, recognizing how diverse experiences shape mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker with R privilege (LCSW-R), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Psychoanalyst, or Psychologist in New York.

• Two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a concentration on mood disorders highly preferred.
\n
• Proficient understanding and application of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and demonstrated success in treating mood disorders.
\n
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and effective collaboration skills when working alongside psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
\n
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to engage and build rapport with clients from various cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in outpatient settings, managing high-volume caseloads while maintaining quality care and attention to detail.

• Previous involvement in case management and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.

• Active participation or leadership in community outreach initiatives aimed at promoting mental health awareness would be a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer a sign-on bonus to qualified candidates.
