This role is essential in providing in-home and community-based therapeutic support to children and adolescents facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. As a Bilingual Therapist fluent in Spanish or Portuguese, you will empower young clients and their families to navigate complex emotional and behavioral issues.

This position offers the flexibility of working remotely, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home while reaching clients in their communities. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and evidence-based methodologies to facilitate effective therapeutic interventions. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home treatment and group therapy sessions, tailored to the unique needs of each child and their family.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based practices to address and reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression through effective anger management and coping strategies.
\n
• Assist caregivers in enhancing decision-making abilities to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home environment.
\n
• Engage in regular collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other involved specialists to ensure comprehensive care for each client.
\n
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all clinical activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
\n
• Participate in regular clinical meetings to share insights, progress, and recommendations for ongoing client support.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who experience developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will provide vital therapeutic support aimed at improving their emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them navigate their unique experiences and fostering strong familial relationships. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life and overall mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
\n
• Ability to provide a minimum of 5-10 hours of therapy per week during the after-school hours of 4-7 pm; weekend availability is a plus.

• A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle are necessary for traveling to clients’ homes as needed.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies in therapeutic settings.

• Prior experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly preferred.

• Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese is essential for effective communication with our diverse clientele.
