Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Cottage Physical Therapy, you will:

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients upon their initial visits to assess their mobility, strength, and specific rehabilitation needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education.
• Utilize various modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold packs, while monitoring their effectiveness and making adjustments as necessary.
• Regularly track and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet their evolving goals.
• Educate patients and their families on techniques to enhance recovery and promote preventative care post-discharge.
• Advise on the selection and fitting of assistive devices as part of the treatment plan to aid in mobility and daily activities.
• Engage in professional development by attending workshops, participating in continuing education, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge through professional literature.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse patient population that includes individuals recovering from surgeries, sustaining sports injuries, managing chronic pain, or rehabilitating after strokes. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
