Administrative Analyst
California Correctional Health Care Services
Under the direction of the Assistant Executive Officer (Supervisor II), the Analyst II is responsible for independently planning, evaluating, and executing Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC or Board) business services functions such as contracting and purchasing. The Analyst II is also responsible for independently researching, analyzing, interpreting, and explaining complex civil service laws, rules, and procedures as they apply to civil service employment and personnel management. The Analyst II independently performs the most complex consultative, administrative, and analytical business service and administrative and personnel-related duties and responsibilities with the highest degree of initiative and originality.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay. The position requires the incumbent to work in-office, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM in a climate controlled suite. The incumbent works in an office with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a computer is essential. Telework may become an option once the candidate is familiar with DHBC programs and operational systems. The DHBC Headquarters is located near the Arden Fair Mall and the Royal Oaks Light Rail Station. Our office features a secure building with on-site and provides plenty of FREE PARKING for employees.

The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) protects and serves California consumers while ensuring a competent and fair marketplace. DCA educates consumers and protects professionals from unfair competition by unlicensed practitioners.
DCA is a unique and dynamic department consisting of 36 different boards, bureaus, a commission, and a program that license and regulate more than 3.4 million licensees in more than 280 license types including certificates, registrations, and permits. DCA has many exciting career opportunities available and is dedicated to hiring and retaining qualified employees. The Dental Hygiene Board of California (DHBC) is under the oversight of the Department of Consumer Affairs and is the only stand-alone dental hygiene governing body in the United States whose primary function is consumer protection. The DHBC is looking for a motivated, efficient, knowledgeable, and reliable individual to join our team in the Administrative Unit. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for duties in personnel administration, procurement and contracts, business services, and Board member support. The DHBC oversees over 35,000 dental hygiene licensees and has programs in licensing, enforcement, dental hygiene education programs, and administration.
Special Requirements Conflict of Interest: This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs' Conflict of Interest Regulations. The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.
