You arrive at our state-of-the-art Kentwood facility ready to run a Tornos Swiss screw machine with confidence. You’ll load and prepare bar stock, set up tools, verify operational controls, and monitor dimensions. When a part trend shifts, you trace the cause, make slide adjustments, swap a worn cutoff tool, and keep quality on target. Throughout the night you’ll keep collets and pushers in top condition, dial in pickoff and cutoffs, and use roller supports, shaving, and floating holders to hit demanding specs—safely and efficiently.

Our Tornos Training Academy guides you from fundamentals to production-ready capability. You will learn to:

• Understand basic components and operations of a Tornos screw machine
• Operate controls and perform basic maintenance
• Prepare bar stock and manage restocking
• Identify root causes of quality defects
• Change tools and fine-tune slides
• Apply shaving, roller supports, and floating holders
• Maintain collets and pushers; replace cutoff tools
• Adjust pickoff and cutoffs

• Training: Day shift for approximately 4–6 weeks
• Production schedule: Nights, 8:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. (50 hours/week)
• Site: Kentwood, Michigan

• High school diploma or GED (technical coursework/certifications in machining are a plus)
• Ability to pass an onsite mechanical aptitude test
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Enjoy hands-on learning and problem solving

• Automotive repair, including brakes and oil changes
• Tire service experience
• Drywall installation or similar construction/hand tool work
• Manual machining exposure
• Shop math capability
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
