Clinical Administrator Coordinator

$18 - $32 per hour

About the Role We are looking for a Release of Information (ROI) Specialist to work full‑time Monday‑Friday with flexible 8‑hour shift schedules during 8:00 am–4:30 pm MST, including rotating holidays. The position may require occasional overtime and includes 4 weeks of on‑the‑job training aligned with your schedule. This is a high‑volume customer service role that requires efficient, productive handling of ROI requests by phone. The ROI Specialist will safeguard patient privacy, comply with applicable laws, and provide excellent customer service. Primary Responsibilities Process all release of information requests, including medical records and billing requests, in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure accuracy and deliver the highest quality product and customer service to clients. Safeguard patient privacy by ensuring only authorized individuals access records and by complying with HIPAA, state and federal laws, and internal policies. Engage in direct customer service and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner that projects a positive image of the ROI department. Promote positive customer relations through prompt and courteous service; review each request for validity according to written guidelines. Provide feedback to requestors regarding non‑valid requests for PHI and work with them as needed. Maintain knowledge of state laws, fee structures, CPS rules, and hospital policies; perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 1+ year of experience with Release of Information and medical record releases. 1+ year of experience working within the health care industry. Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 08:00 am–04:30 pm PST, including potential holidays. Must be 18 years of age or older. Preferred Qualifications Experience with healthcare terminology. Knowledge of California state law, federal, and HIPAA regulations. Experience in a hospital, physician’s office, or medical clinic setting. Clerical or administrative support background. Experience working in a call center. Telecommuting Requirements Reside within the United States. Maintain a secure, dedicated work area separated from other living areas to protect company documents. Provide or have access to a UnitedHealth Group‑approved high‑speed internet connection. Soft Skills Apply regulatory requirements to facilitate organizational compliance. Develop and maintain positive relationships with requestors and stakeholders. Exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. Work independently in a fast‑paced environment. Demonstrate problem‑solving and critical thinking abilities. Use email, fax, and copy machines competently. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Perform team‑oriented tasks with conscientious awareness of detail and accuracy; multitask effectively. *All telecommuters must adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy. Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay for this role ranges from $18 to $32 per hour based on full‑time employment. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution.
