Cook Supervisor

About the Position This position is located at Bassett Army Community Hospital in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Who May Apply US Citizens. Pay and Benefits Federal employees in Alaska are entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This is subject to change. Minimum Qualifications Ability to do the work of Cook Supervisor without more than normal supervision. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, the applicant must demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Adequate credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be provided. Responsibilities Perform common supervisory cook duties, manage all phases in a food production environment, prepare and cook food items, schedule work assignments for personnel, and ensure compliance with food service sanitation and safety regulations. Physical and Working Conditions PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Work involves lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and can lift heavier objects with assistance. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee is exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold temperatures, must stand on tile floor, subject to burns, cuts, and other injuries from hand tools or power equipment. Required to work at any Cadet Mess facility, including off post camps. The employee is required to wear protective shoes, appropriate hearing protection, and gloves or other safety and food handling items required by food handling guides. #J-18808-Ljbffr
