Position Overview

Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking an experienced and energetic Breakfast Service Manager with strong barista experience to lead daily breakfast service and support coffee and beverage operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is comfortable managing a fast-paced morning operation while also stepping behind the coffee bar when needed. The Breakfast Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth opening procedures, strong service standards, proper staffing, consistent coffee quality, and an exceptional guest experience each morning.

The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, service-driven, and experienced in both front-of-house breakfast operations and specialty coffee preparation .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily breakfast operations and ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Lead, supervise, and support servers, hosts, bussers, runners, and baristas during breakfast service.
• Oversee opening procedures and ensure all breakfast and coffee stations are fully prepared before service.
• Prepare espresso-based beverages, coffee, tea, and specialty drinks as needed.
• Maintain consistent barista standards, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, drink presentation, and equipment care.
• Train and coach team members on service standards, coffee preparation, menu knowledge, and guest engagement.
• Monitor guest flow and adjust team assignments based on business volume.
• Maintain strong communication between front-of-house, culinary, and hotel leadership teams.
• Address guest concerns professionally and resolve service issues promptly.
• Ensure proper setup, cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of breakfast and coffee service areas.
• Monitor product levels and communicate coffee, milk, pastry, and other supply needs.
• Support inventory control and help minimize waste.
• Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, and daily team communication.
• Maintain a strong floor presence and actively support the team throughout service.
• Ensure adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
• Support other food and beverage operations as needed based on business demand.

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience in a restaurant, hotel, café, or high-volume hospitality environment.
• Previous barista experience required.
• Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee beverages, milk steaming, and coffee equipment.
• Breakfast or brunch service experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain organized and composed during high-volume service.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest service.
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse hospitality team.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays .
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $70,000–$72,000 , commensurate with experience.
