Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of recent ICU experience License: Ohio license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Surgical ICU / Trauma ICU / Burn ICU / Transplant ICU experience preferred - First-time travelers accepted - Floating required - Call required Description: Night shift travelers needed for shifts on Friday night, Saturday night, and one additional night each week. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of recent ICU experience. Experience in Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Burn ICU, or Transplant ICU is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification is also required. Floating to different units within the organization will be required as needed. Call may be required during the assignment. Candidates must manage and monitor patients requiring invasive procedures and critical care. Experience includes cardiac monitoring, ventilation management, and handling multi-system organ dysfunction/failure. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation. Special procedures may include management of traumatic injuries and burn care. The unit is recognized as a Level I trauma center and burn center. All candidates must be prepared to complete necessary credentialing swiftly. References from previous employment are required. Education must be from an accredited nursing program.
