Overview
An innovative EV manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Construction Pipefitter to join its self-perform construction team. This role is responsible for the installation, fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of industrial and commercial piping and plumbing systems that support critical facility operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on journeyman-level professional who can interpret complex drawings, develop work plans, ensure code compliance, and contribute to a fast-paced environment focused on advancing sustainable energy solutions.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of pipefitting and/or welding experience at the Journeyman level or higher in industrial or commercial construction environments.
- Strong experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of plumbing and piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams)
- Shop drawings
- Spool drawings
- Fabrication drawings
- Specifications and UPC codes
- Experience creating parts lists, material takeoffs, and work plans based on drawings, field observations, and routing requirements.
- Ability to produce accurate as-built drawings documenting completed work.
- Experience testing, commissioning, and validating installed systems in accordance with company procedures and applicable building codes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently while maintaining a safety-first mindset.
- Willingness to support work outside of traditional pipefitting responsibilities as project needs require.
Plusses
- Experience working on large-scale manufacturing, energy, semiconductor, automotive, or industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of high-purity, process, utility, or specialty piping systems.
- Experience working in self-perform construction environments.
- Familiarity with quality control, commissioning, and startup activities for industrial facilities.
- Multi-craft experience beyond pipefitting, including welding, mechanical installation, or equipment setting.
- Experience in fast-paced construction environments with aggressive project schedules.
- Strong teamwork mindset, positive attitude, and passion for solving challenging technical and construction-related problems.
