Travel RN Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down Nursing Employment Type: Travel RN Location: Columbus, OH 43210 Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Week: 36 Weekend Requirement: Every other/third weekend Float Requirement: May float within the organization as needed Assignment Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 09/21/2026 Setting: Mixed-acuity surgical PCU / academic medical center PCU RN Job Requirements Active RN license in hand at time of submission Minimum of 1 year of recent PCU nursing experience required BLS and ACLS required Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations preferred Experience with telemetry, step-down nursing, and progressive care workflows preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital or academic medical center experience preferred Comfort working with EPIC and Pyxis preferred Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with mixed-acuity surgical needs Monitor and manage patients recovering from burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures Perform and assist with specialty interventions such as burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy Manage IVs, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to telemetry changes appropriately Support respiratory needs including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management Administer medications safely and follow protocols for insulin, heparin, and other complex therapies Document patient care accurately in EPIC and support medication management through Pyxis Columbus offers the energy of a vibrant Midwest city with a welcoming community, strong Ohio healthcare presence, and easy access to dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions.
